L'Arche Belfast New house Project
L'Arche currently offer a Supported Living Service consisting of 3 houses on the Ormeau Road, which is home to 14 adults with learning disability. In response to the growing need for supported living facilities in the community, L'Arche are in the process of expanding their existing service and are in the process of purchasing a large residential property in the Castlereagh Hills.
One thing we hear when speaking with those we work with, their families and to our partners in the Health and Social Care Trusts, is that there is a high demand for services for people with learning disabilities to be able to live independently in the community.
We are currently developing this exciting addition to our service-WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP!
We have secured £700,000 funding for the residential facility and need your help with the final £150,000 to help meet the cost of kitchen and laundry equipment, redecoration and ensuring the Health and Safety and Disability access are in place.
We are asking for your support in our fundraising efforts to make this much needed facility happen in South East Belfast. Any support you can give will help adults with learning disabilities to thrive and live independently and confidently in their community. Alternatively, if you would like to hold your own fundraiser of any type for L'Arche please get in touch with Gillian on 90641088.
